The bloom lasts only a few weeks each year — which is exactly why rushing it would mean losing it. We designed this trip with plenty of free days, so hanami isn't just another stop on the itinerary, but the reason for the whole trip.

Fourteen days of cherry blossoms and cities

Arrival in Tokyo
Airport pickup, private transfer. A day to acclimate, no scheduled activities. Light welcome dinner.

Tokyo: tradition
Meiji Shrine, stroll through Harajuku. Free afternoon to rest from jet lag.

Tokyo: temples and river
Asakusa and Senso-ji Temple, boat ride along the Sumida River with views of the blossoms along the banks.

Tokyo: hanami and gardens
A day devoted to cherry blossom viewing: Ueno Park in the morning, Shinjuku Gyoen Gardens in the afternoon. Traditional picnic under the blossoms.

Free day in Tokyo
No fixed itinerary — time to explore at your own pace, or simply rest.

Nikko, day trip
UNESCO World Heritage shrines, waterfalls and nature, with beautiful cherry trees and fewer crowds than other destinations. Return to Tokyo.

Tokyo → Hakone
Transfer to Hakone. Free afternoon, first taste of the ryokan's onsen.

Hakone: Mount Fuji
Cable car with views of Mount Fuji, boat ride on Lake Ashi. Night at a traditional ryokan with a private onsen.

Hakone → Kyoto
Transfer by bullet train. Afternoon at the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove.

Kyoto: temples
Golden Pavilion (Kinkaku-ji), Fushimi Inari Shrine.

Kyoto: Gion and free day
Free morning. Afternoon in the Gion district, traditional kaiseki dinner.

Nara, day trip
Nara Park and its sacred deer, Todai-ji Temple. Return to Kyoto.

Kyoto → Osaka
Transfer to Osaka. Osaka Castle surrounded by cherry blossoms, free afternoon in Dotonbori.

Departure
Transfer to Kansai Airport, or back to Tokyo for an international flight.
